How waterless car washing works
Quick answer
Waterless washing replaces the rinse with a lubricating product that encapsulates grit before a microfibre lifts it away, so dirt never drags across the paint. It uses roughly 5 litres per car versus 150 at a station, and works anywhere — no hose or power point needed.
The four steps of a VITA WASH waterless wash
- 1. Pre-treat — product sprayed panel by panel
- 2. Encapsulate — 30 seconds of dwell to wrap the grit
- 3. Wipe — 500 g/m² premium microfibre, straight lines
- 4. Finish — buff, then a hydrophobic protection layer
Is it safe for the paint?
Yes, subject to three conditions we always respect: a high-lubricity product, a clean microfibre per zone, and a soil level the method can handle. On an exceptionally muddy car we do a pre-wash or recommend a conventional water wash.

Frequently asked questions
Does waterless washing scratch the paint?
No. The product encapsulates grit and forms a lubricating film, so the microfibre glides on the film rather than on the dirt. It is the method of choice for dark paint and ceramic coatings.
How much water does it use?
Around 5 litres per car, mostly for the wheels, against 100–150 litres for a traditional wash.
Do you need a tap or a socket?
No. Our units are fully self-contained — they bring their own water and power, which is why we can work in underground car parks.
What if the car is extremely dirty?
We adapt: a pre-wash first, then a conventional wash if needed. You are told before any extra cost.
